An Acting Police and Crime Commissioner has been appointed by the county’s Police and Crime Panel.
The appointment has been made in line with legislation at an extraordinary meeting held in Peterborough on Wednesday 27th November.
The Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011 requires Police and Crime Panels to appoint an Acting Commissioner when there is a vacancy that will not be filled by an election.
Members of the Panel voted to appoint Ray Bisby, the former Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner to the role following the recent resignation of Jason Ablewhite.
Mr Bisby takes over the role until the forthcoming PCC elections in May 2020.
